<h2>Windows binary</h2>
A complete Windows installer is available for download. Simply downloading this
and running it will install the game on your system. If you do not trust the
executable for some reason, you can download the game source and compile that
yourself instead.<p>

<h2>Source code</h2>
The sourcecode download is split into two packages: the sourcecode itself and
the game datafiles. To compile and run the game, you will need both packages.
If you installed the Windows version, you already have the datafiles.<p>

The source and datafiles are available in .tar.gz format. On UNIX systems you
can simply extract them by giving the commands 
<i>gunzip carcassonne-x.y.z-src.tar.gz</i> and <i>tar xvf carcassonne-x.y.z-src.tar</i>,
where x.y.z is the version number. Repeat this for the datafiles. In Windows,
you can use a program such as WinZIP to read the archive.<p>
